We were honoured to host former child soldier-turned-Blacktown lawyer Deng Adut in our studio on Friday. You may recognise him from the powerful Western Sydney University ad below, which shows the journey that led him from war-torn South Sudan, to becoming a lawyer and refugee advocate here in Australia. He very generously shared his story with us and 30 of our clients, including people from Médecins Sans Frontières, The Smith Family, Caritas and WWF Australia. After Deng’s talk, Dan hosted a Q&A in which we discussed the art of storytelling, particularly when dealing with very sensitive and confronting stories.
