Karl Tischler

Founding Director & Idealist

Karl started Marlin with a mission; to use advertising and communications to impact the way that our society behaves. It was a very deliberate choice that he and Dan made to only work with charities and cause-driven organisations: organisations that served a truer and more worthy purpose.
Today, he often looks around and is truly humbled by those that have been similarly attracted by that choice.

A degree in psychology led to a keen interest in the ‘why’ that drives behaviour. Motivated by a desire to do good in the world, Dan has helped lead a strategic revolution in Australian fundraising, championing the role of values in determining effective, cut-through communications for the not-for-profit sector, and introducing new methodologies for creativity and innovation.

While working for IBM James had a dream. “I can do this cheaper, and better and get lasting results.” He knew that Australia’s not-for-profit sector didn’t have access to best-practice digital strategy and marketing, and dedicated himself to providing just that.

He is now spearheading Marlin’s digital growth, and providing clients with a new level of campaign integration across all communications.

Creative Director

Clayton is an award winning Creative Director with decades of experience working on the world’s biggest brands; Nike, Gatorade, Harley Davidson, Vodafone and Panasonic included. For the last five years he has been the agile minded, nimble fingered centre of Marlin’s creative department.

For Clayton, nothing feels better than changing the world for good.

Sophie Griffiths

Communications Strategist

Sophie brings a deep understanding of the NFP sector to Marlin and her work. Her experience working both charity and agency side means she offers a unique perspective to every project and relationship, genuinely understanding needs and pressures and effectively bringing that gap between client and service provider.

As one of Marlin’s Strategists, Sophie makes it her mission to understand the client’s ambitions, get to the heart of problems and work towards effective solutions.

Jason Ruffell Smith

Over the past 5 years Jason has led the delivery of digital project's including strategy, peer-to-peer, website, app and integration projects for our not for profit clients. Jason is passionate about helping organisations on their digital journeys and enabling them to drive innovation through clear strategy and best practice approaches.

As one of Marlin's Strategist, Jason works closely supporting our clients to achieve their digital goals.

Jakob heralds from the remote parts of Sweden, known for its famous viking conquerors and Ikea furniture.

Jakob has an entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on authentic and transparent consulting and selling in both B2B and B2C for long term acquisition and growth in agile markets.

Never content with being biggest, or best, he believes “there is always room for improvement”. Let’s do it!

Catherine Braybon

Catherine began her marketing career in the NFP sector and over the past two and a half years extended her skills working for the St Vincent de Paul Society, as the National Marketing Manager, before joining Marlin.

Catherine's education in psychology alongside her extensive experience at the helm of one of Australia’s top-tier charities, makes for great fit in extending the Marlin team.

Jasmine Coronado

Account Strategy Director

Jasmine uses her creativity and innovation to help others. She’s the co-founder of a grass-roots initiative in Sydney that offers support to homeless women, while in her role at Marlin she brims with efficiency, positivity and compassion.

Jasmine began her career working for a successful e-Commerce startup, before honing her Account Management skills at a multinational advertising agency.

Now she’s doing what she loves.
