This year as part of our FIA conference partnership with Fundraising Institute of Australia, we’ve created Big Chat: Conversations with Purpose as a way to get to know FIA speakers and other leaders in the sector through a more informal lens.
Big Chat aims to inspire new and existing members of the for-purpose community and see themselves as the future achievers and leaders of social change.
Lauren McDermott
Lauren is a professional fundraiser with a mission to make donors feel like the heroes they are. Lauren’s passion for NFPs began when she volunteered overseas during her time at University, there she decided life would be more fulfilling working for causes rather than shareholders.
Today Lauren is Donor Development Manager at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. The small but mighty team focus on creating memorable, meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships, by using a mix of conversation and technology.
She believes that sincerity is at the heart of everything. In 2020 she won FIA WA Young Fundraiser of the Year award and the National FIA Myth Smashers competition, as well as being part of FIA WA’s Team of the Year.
