Every year Marlin is fortunate to support some of Australia’s best loved and well known charities to prepare and run their Christmas season appeals.

Providing Australians with the opportunity to support the causes they are passionate about offers us a way to act on our belief that no one should feel they are incapable of changing their world. Which is why this year we are launching a new initiative to help small and medium sized charities access the creativity, insights and minds of Marlin.

The Christmas Countdown Club is an experimental new way for our agency team to work alongside in-house charity teams. By combining teaching with supportive coaching, we want to help you accelerate the progress of your digital fundraising, improve the loyalty of your supporters, and raise funds for your charity’s 2024 activities.

Who is this suitable for?

If you are a charity without a firm plan for digital fundraising this Christmas this program will accelerate your learning, building your capacity for 2024, whilst helping you innovate before 2023 has finished.

You may be:

  • •  A smaller fundraising charity still building your capacity for individual giving.
  • •  Charities of any size who are dependent on direct mail and still wondering how they can discover the additional role digital could play.

Our weekly program will empower you to execute a digital Christmas appeal for your charity.

Week 1: w/c October 16th
Introduction and overview – a Masterclass showing how to strategically map out your campaign and feel prepared to competently pull together data, digital and communication workstreams.
Audience and channel planning – a practical tutorial that steps you through identifying your audience and channels for your campaign and the associated budgets.

Week 2: w/c October 23rd
Influencing the setting of your campaign – a Q and A session with an experienced Director of Fundraising to help you steer your charity towards embracing a fundraising campaign.
The digital ecosystem – our second tutorial will help you plan the digital infrastructure of your appeal including eCRM, landing pages, donation flows, social media promotions.

Week 3: w/c October 30th
Tracking for good – our third tutorial will help you set up the tracking required to measure your and introduce the right ways for you to execute testing.
Set up – access the digital minds of Marlin to ensure the tracking you require is ready for results

The big ask – our fourth practical tutorial will guide you through how to craft the offer of your appeal and the associated framing of your story

Weeks 6-10 from November 20th
Weekly digital campaign coaching session: spend 30 minutes each week with one of our specialist digital fundraisers to discuss campaign results, gain suggestions optimising, technical setup support, and further A/B testing brainstorms.
