Donation Microsite and Integrations
Overview
Marlin was approached by Anglicare Australia in late 2021 to help them develop a Donation Microsite with CRM and data integrations.
Anglicare Victoria supports children, youth and families across a broad range of services including Out-of-Home Care, Emergency Relief, and Financial Counselling.
The organisation’s donation pages were outdated and plagued with legacy issues like poor load time and glitches. After identifying digital as a growth channel for fundraising and charting an investment in their online infrastructure, they contacted Marlin to help them create a quick and easy donation experience for supporters.
This included a complete redesign and development of a new donation microsite (modern layout & donation experience) and a data integration between their website, payment gateway (BBMS) and Raiser’s Edge (CRM).
The completed product was a clear and easy-to-use donation page which not only created a frictionless experience for donors but allowed for maximum flexibility for Anglicare Victoria staff to test multiple variations of the page, content and forms, as well as create pages and upload content with ease.

The Challenge
Anglicare Victoria was seeking an investment in its digital channels to help grow their online fundraising efforts, as well as engagement with audiences and clients. Existing donation pages were clunky and outdated, providing a slow and friction-filled experience for potential donors.
Whatsmore, the previous web design made it difficult for staff to create and test new pages, forms and general content and lacked efficient integrations with their payment platforms and CRM. Therefore, the challenge was to create a seamless donation experience with a backend design that allowed for ultimate flexibility and easy usability.

Marlin’s creative & digital team undertook a complete redesign and development of a new donation experience for Anglicare Australia. This included:
The Marlin Web Platform theme along with frontend custom development, wireframes and designs, custom donation workflow and data integrations with their payment gateway (BBMS) and CRM (Raiser’s Edge NXT), setup of tracking and reporting with Google services.
To improve staff flexibility and usability, Marlin created the ability to have multiple donation pages live, personalised thank you templates and the freedom to add content across the website using content blocks (WordPress Gutenberg).
After website deployment, we held an extensive training workshop with complete documentation for Anglicare Victoria staff to ensure a thorough handover.
The Results
Anglicare Victoria was pleased with the final product. They now have a beautiful and functional donation microsite, complete with BBMS and RENXT CRM integrations and the ability to customise and update the site as they please. As a result, their team is able to better communicate their story and engage with their audience to take specific action on their website.
Organisationally, they have been able to cut down time for data entry, whilst also having the flexibility to create and run multiple campaigns simultaneously. This has allowed them to effortlessly increase the volume and value of donors.
