Overview

NORTH Foundation (formerly the Kolling Foundation) works closely with hospitals and research institutes to raise much-needed funds.

Through collective giving, the Foundation seeks to provide equipment, patient care services, facilities and renovations and vital medical research to Royal North Shore Hospital, Ryde Hospital, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital and Kolling Institute of Medical Research.

NORTH Foundation approached us to develop a new website and create a personalised experience for their donors.

The Challenge

As the official fundraising partner to the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD), NORTH Foundation champions innovation in research and patient care. Funds raised through the Foundation help ensure that NSLHD residents and patients receive the highest quality care.

So creating an easy, seamless and positive donor experience is vital to the success of the Foundation.

With four sites and many different units receiving donations, the Foundation wanted to create a more seamless experience where users could choose the specific area of a particular hospital they wanted to donate to and provide reasons for their donations.

The Solution

Their old donation form through thankQ was a basic template with limited customisation capabilities, which negatively impacted their donor experience and made processing of online donations time consuming.   

We replaced it with our customised donation module to enable a simpler and more dynamic experience for the user.

The user has the ability to select the specific area of the hospital they want to donate and specify the reason for their donation – a feature that NORTH Foundation wanted to record – whether it was a thank you, in memory of a loved one or from an event. 

All of this data would be captured in NORTH Foundation’s CRM. 

We also simplified the donation process by modifying NORTH Foundation’s existing donation flow through dynamic fields. We mapped over 50 thankQ source codes for each site to enable communication between fields in the form, allowing for dynamic fields.

Donors now also receive an instant personalised email from the donation platform via Campaign Monitor, which specifies their area of support and reason for donating.

The Results

Creating a new donor experience for NORTH Foundation took two months, through our customised donation module. Users go through simple yet highly personalised steps to make a donation, creating a seamless, pleasant donor experience. 

Staff can now manage the backend and customise the donation page quickly and easily – without the need for external support.
